But before the main attraction for this February post, we were definitely in the Seahawk mode.
Kathmandu warmed up my Championship Game outfit that I prepared for the game watching activity.

My clothing being well taken care of, I took my ride around home to show my support as a 12!

It all worked its magic — lucky clothing outfit, waving the flag, and cheering the game — and our team won the Super Bowl!!!! And MANY were out for the victory parade. (We did not attend — too big a crowd for my comfort level).

I think this might be what is meant by a Die Hard fan?

Seattle was indeed a happy place for this win!! And now ——- The Seahawks for up for sale. Our only wish is that whoever purchases them will keep them in Seattle. That is never a given for a team that is sold.
The month of February was kind of a mixed bag of weather. We had cold, wind, rain, a short snow flurry or two, warm, dry, sun for several days. Good enough for me to get in several rides, one of which was with friends along the East Lake trail to tea and crumpet.

I thought this was a clever way to cover the electrical box.

I had many more day rides, but not many photos as my rides were repeats of daily rides I often do.
This is where sculptures and wolves come in ;’-)
Rachel, a Sister On The Fly, coordinated a day trip to the Wolf Haven Sanctuary near Tenino WA. A place that neither Susan nor I had ever visited. We have two SOTF friends who live near Tenino and they arranged to meet us for dinner at The Lodge our first night there. It was delightful to spend time with Susie and Cindy that evening. We had camped across the road from the lodge on Offut Lake.
Susan and I planned to ride on at least part of the Chehalis-Western Trail the next day, and Susie joined us for the ride.
We arrive at the Sculpture Park, lock up our bikes and walk through the grounds.

Susan rang the bell to announce our arrival…

Susie walked through the ‘gateway’…

The first thing we saw was one little pig hiding in his house of sticks from the Big Bad Wolf. (Look up in the right corner for the wolf ready to eat the pig.

Continuing through the grounds we stopped at a few more funky sculptures.

Farther on down the trail we came upon a big herd of my friends the cows. There is a Ranch there with the cows grazing in the open field.

Thus ended our most wonderful ride on the trail and time with Susie.
Next day we had an amazing morning and experience at Wolf Haven international, where they have wolves, wolfdogs, and coyotes at their sanctuary locations in Tenino.

This is a sanctuary for wolves that have been born in captivity and are never put into the wild as they would not know how to survive. So they are there for life. And treated extremely well with food, enrichment toys and items to rip apart, veterinary services, kindness and love.
Our tour was on a rainy day.

There are at this time, abut 40 wolves in the sanctuary. Here are a few of them. They are quite beautiful animals and so well taken care of here.

Recall — they spend their life here, and are honored after they die in a lovely cemetery kind of in the wild.

Thank you Rachel for this great outing, none of us complained about the rain, and we all loved learning more about the wolves. Any of you who are local would likely enjoy this sanctuary. It’s free, and you can leave a donation in the lobby if you like.
