We all gathered to say good morning, have a head count, and eat breakfast together.
Note the mimosa making ingredients ;’)

JoAnn and Ronna work at opening the bubbly.

People are getting hungry.

After breakfast everyone told our leader, Rosalie, what their plan was for the day. A few went kayaking…

A few went thrift shopping, and modeled for us at dinner.
Then they posed for a group photo.

Five of us started out on a bike ride. First we had to get all geared up and ready.

Then we were rolling. Paula, Susan (being cutsie), Mimi, Ronna

End of the group riding together as we came to the impassible road construction. Mimi walked over to the workmen to plead our case of needing to get to the trail, but no dice. We had to turn around.

Mimi, being from Sandpoint, took the others on a closer in ride and Susan and I rode on to find the alternative way to get to the trail. We had to ride on the busy Highway 95 for about half a mile, but there is a very wide shoulder and we did not feel at all threatened by the fast moving traffic.
Once on the trail we were back in familiar territory for us as we had ridden here last year. Before reaching City Beach Park, we had some quiet time along the lake.

Sandpoint has a nice beach and today’s weather was perfect for it. When we were here last August the wind was incredible and we watched the kite surfers crest high waves in high wind. Not today though.

After a cruise around the beach we continued through town and to the long bridge. We have ridden this bridge several times and still enjoy the fact that Sandpoint saved this for pedestrians and cyclists when they built the new highway right next to it.

Heading back to town, Susan promised me an ice cream! We had that and did some shopping (buying) at the store next to ice cream for another sun shirt ;’0. The ice cream filled some emptiness but we had some saved up room for a light lunch right after. We stopped at Joe’s for a Philly cheesesteak to go and sat at the only shady spot we found at the park where they were setting up for this afternoon’s Farmers Market.

The fellow at the shirt shop was most helpful to sketch a map for getting us back to camp on roads rather than the trail. That made it more of a loop ride which we both enjoyed.
Ending our day with dinner together and sitting around the circle chatting and visiting. Til tomorrow.
