AT HOME BEFORE OUR NEXT EVENT

We had three full days at home before taking off on Thursday for our next SOTF outing. I will blog that later. During those days, among the chores that needed to be done, I got to ride my bike around ;’-).

My photos here tell the stories of where I rode, but really in no specific order.

On my first ride day it was sunny, clear and warm-ish. I pass these trees often on my rides and decided, on this day, they deserved a photo ;’-).

On another ride around my neighborhood, there was definitely signs of Autumn. And though I hate it when my favorite season of summer comes to an end, the vibrant colors here are beautiful.

Yesterday would be my final riding day around home, and the weather had turned to clouds, lower temps, and wind. What initially seemed like an obstacle to my riding was that Susan and I had our flu shots scheduled for the morning. Susan suggested, fortunately, that I bring my bike and ride home from there. That’s what I did and was happy for some riding along different streets and roads from my neighborhood loops!

Riding further into Everett from Kaiser (flu shots) I noticed this relatively new mural. New to me anyway, but I have not ridden this route in a while. I could not line up the art work with any skyline around me, so I accept it as the artist’s abstract view of the surroundings, and from a different vantage point.

As I pedaled along more of the streets of town I saw at least three homes with Halloween yard decorations. Still in mid-September, it seems early for that but this one caught my eye as being ‘blog worthy’ (as my past riding friend Vickie would say). Another sign of Autumn.

Just short of my half way point, I entered and rode around Everett waterfront for a bit. Then stopped for a tea and breakfast sandwich. It was well past breakfast time, so it was my lunch sandwich. This place is a bit nostalgic for me as the friend I mentioned (Vickie) and I had discovered this little place years ago before the waterfront became more developed, and before many others had found it. Vickie has some health challenges that prevent her from riding her bike, and I think of her whenever I am here, and miss riding with here.

It does need a new sign!

HAPPY PUMPKIN SEASON EVERYONE ;’-). Autumn is here whether I am ready or not.
