Last year I posted a photo of the switchbacks that we passed on the way home from White Bird. For those who did not see that, and for me again, here is that photo.

Before actually heading for home, we had two more stops for visits in and near Spokane. Our usual stop to have precious time with Vicki and Ray is always such a treat. This year was no different as we loved sharing a couple of days with them at their home. The weather was rather abysmal with lots of rain, and heavy winds! There was no desire to go out and sightsee or visit any attractions, so we stayed hunkered in with chatting, catching up and taking two evenings to watch Killers of the Flower Moon. This was a second viewing for Susan and me, and it truly is a hard movie to watch. But Lily Gladstone was a student of Susan’s who she really liked and respects. It was a thrill to watch her in the acting role.
Then, we moved on to the town of Elk, a bit north and west of Spokane where we could have some time with a “sister” friend, Rosalie.

This backyard view overlooks some of their 20 acres surrounding Rosalie and Jack’s very comfortable home.
Rosalie organized a luncheon for us with local ‘sisters’ who were available to join us. It was truly a nice time at Poole’s Pub!
Back at their house we sat out by the fire on their deck.

We even had a resident bunny join us.

What seemed all too soon, our time with Rosalie was coming to an end and we said our farewells for this time. We will see her again at an upcoming event later this year.
Once home, I got my first ride in a week! For The Hill Of If was the last ride I had had. Came across this sign which matched the first summer-like day we have had!

Our shared cat -Katmandu – finally came to welcome us home and to see us off for a short ride for a Share Your Stuff Muk – Mukilteo free stuff group that Susan stays in touch with – for a pick up of “goods”.

We got the puzzles which made Susan happy…

Stopped to pick up lunch to have at home.

At this point we parted ways as Susan rode home and I continued around for some more riding. I was happy to have those few miles with Susan and just needed a few more.
We value our wildlife around here.

Home again for some relaxing, really unpacking and getting ready for the “next” thing. See y’all then.
