3) DAM EASY OR DAMN EASY, IT’S OUR FINAL DAY

I had thought all along that the title for this outing was DAM Easy since we are near the dam. Seeing this banner informs me I have been wrong.

I continue to like the play on words so will not go back to change the spelling on here, and will likely always think of it as the Dam Easy. Either way, we do have more fun than anyone, even on the easy days ;’-).

Today would be our last full day here at Steamboat Rock. A lovely state park that I am so glad we did not miss, beautiful Poplar (we think) trees shining in sun against blue sky, Banks Lake running right next to us, uncrowded campsites with room for our screen tents, meeting some new and reacquainting with some familiar sisters. Who could ask for more.

Today Susan and Nese opted for the mountain bike ride, which apparently became a push your bike hike ;’-). But they enjoyed the views and a sandy beach walk. I opted out of that adventure and rode around camp again, adding the in and out access road for a nice ramble.

Susan and Nese are the two specks in the middle right of the photo…

And there they go – riding.

A party of sisters headed to the dam tour in the afternoon but neither Susan nor I could get our interest up for that. We had a nice lunch in our screen tent and a nice quiet afternoon of the views, the calm weather and sunshine. We understand that we will be getting home for a week of rain, so we are soaking up the sun.

We had our nightly fire ring/potluck circle, and Kiki was well dressed for it.

As a reminder, I cannot post this until the event is finished, so it will be coming later, after we get home tomorrow.

I knew that this would likely be my last sunny day for a week as we were heading home to a week forecasted with rain. Susan agreed that I could ride my bike from camp to Coulee City and she would pick me up there. So sweet, and understanding of my addiction!

I cycled all along Banks Lake with canyon walls of either side of me. Traffic was fast, but it was fairly light and each driver gave me plenty of room on my very substantial shoulder. The majority of the drivers went into the left lane as they passed me, and those that didn’t, stayed well to the left of their own lane. It was treat for me to ride today.

As a reminder, I include this map again that I had posted earlier. You can see where I started at the red marker, and where I went at Coulee City.

So ended this SOTF adventure. Thanks for reading ;’-).
