DAY 2
What can we come up with for today?

This day, day #2 was mainly filled with our Carnation Farm tour. Twelve bike riders made their way to the Farm with a potential to bike further on after the tour.

We had arrived with plenty of extra time so shopped the shop, sat and chatted, and relaxed until it was time to follow our tour leader to the barn where we would lock up our bikes.

After securing our bikes we walked the hill to the next building that had many memorable photos on the walls.

Our leader, Bob, had much to tell us about the cows, including how sensitive the are and warning not to swear around them.

Nor could you smoke anywhere around.

Either offense was grounds for dismissal. They loved their Holstein contented cows.
Bob has an incredible amount of history information about Carnation and told us many personal stories people and of the business. The Hall of Fame of Dairy Cattle was a backdrop for many of those stories and historical facts.

Another building on the property.

Walking through the Carriage Room continued with the history and by this time my brain was on overload and had stopped trying to fill it up what more facts. I enjoyed looking at the old vehicles and the many carriages preserved, and was especially taken with the Dog carriage.

Susan tried but could not get it started!

The tour had taken almost two hours, and by now no one, including me, wanted to continue on for more bike riding and we headed for home.
As our schedule for the day indicated, some took a nap, some painted rocks, some read their book, I worked on the blog (π), some just visited with each other. Being the tea totalers that we are, Susan and I opted to not go on the wine tour and enjoyed some well needed down time.
Dinner potluck was tasty and plentiful and Lisa went over the next dayβs schedule as we sat around the camp fire.
