Before today begins I must share a photo from last evening’s gathering. If you know Susan, you may know that she loves sharing the game “Happy Salmon” and here she is, giving beginning instructions.

This morning more of the members than I expected left for home. A little sad to say goodbye to so many, but seems all of us will return here next year. The outing is relaxed enough, with just enough going on without feeling rushed, and all the women were super friendly. We still have a good number staying this final night, and there was still a morning baked good offering. Warm from the oven 😉. I had mine while working on the blog.

As I was working on the blog, and eating my oven warm cinnamon roll, there were several aid cars and fire trucks sounding their sirens and rushing toward Chinook pass where the fire continues to burn. There was later an air aid helicopter that the gals spotted overhead but by then I was gone on my ride.
There is smoke in the air around us but it seemed far enough away for me to feel safe to ride. Of course there is not much in different places to ride! So I did a little more of Hwy 410 and looped back to Nile Road.
I am indeed enjoying the light and courteous cars along the highway.

Riding alongside the Naches River I felt like speedy Gonzalez as I was barely pedaling and going at a great pace. Wow! Am I strong!! Here you can see the smoke lingering in the air ahead.

When I turned onto Nile Rd to head in the other direction I hit into a huge headwind. No wonder I felt so effortlessly fast along the highway — I had had a tremendous tailwind pushing me along.
Another photo of the lone horse as he was a little closer to me, and looked at me.

Back to camp, showered, fed, organized for early(ish) departure by bike for Yakima, and so ends the day. Well, after one more potluck with those who did not leave early, and the Storm game 🙄. We lost and are now out of the tournament.
This brings MOONBEAMS AND FIREFLIES 2025 to its end. We had a great time and our leader did a great job.
