WHAT TO DO

Being without WiFi — JUST NOW I FOUND WIFI ELSEWHERE IN THE PARK!! and without cell signal have been a real bugaboo for me. I can write about our day to publish later when we find WiFi somewhere, but cannot download any photos so must do that when we do find a place to publish (time consuming). Plus, I get no emails to peruse and/or respond to. I hope if you have tried to make contact that you will understand my lack of response.

The birds are nice…

There is not much to do here as no good cycling roads (no shoulder let alone a bike lane) exist, and there are big campers driving as well as some fast traffic on narrowish shoulderless roads and no place to dive off the road if need be. No bike trips into town, and the riding around the park can be stretched to almost a mile and a half. Are we sensing some boredom here? No WiFi, no bike riding!

There are boat rentals but — not only is it very hot here, but between Susan’s aching knee and my aching shoulder, we are hesitant to think we are capable sitting on a kayak and paddling. We had plans to sign up for a ranger led boat tour of the lake, but they have discontinued that outing. Add no boating to the list.

This morning’s walk was pleasant enough, and the bridge across the lake offers a different perspective.

Being right on the border of Mexico, we are kind of in a dual lingo area.

Later I took my bike for its mile ride and stopped at the marina restroom. Inside art was nice.

That is about the end of the excitement for this day.
