MORE THAN TEA IN OCTOBER ;’-)

Though I again participated in the Teaneurring challenge, I was having some difficulty getting as enthused about it as I have in the past. It is anyone’s guess if I complete the challenge. (I did).

Early October weather was ideal for some bike riding and I tried to take advantage before it took the turn to rain! It was nice enough at the end of September to have the littles take off their coats for outdoor activity at pre-school.

We did have some rain during the month and some was rather significant.

However, most of October gave us sunny days to make up for any rain days (that we needed). I no longer take many photos of Halloween yard decorations except for a few chosen ones I like. i prefer the ones that are for fall rather than Halloween.

I had many sunny rides on my own, some riding with friends, and an errand ride with Susan! A full month.

There was good sun and some blue sky for my ride into Everett and along the Mill Town Trail for a short time.

Here is Mount Baker in the distance.

The other view across the channel brings the tug boat doing her work. I am drawn to tug boats.

Kathy and I had a delightful ride into Snohomish for lunch. It was definitely nice enough to eat lunch outside at the gazebo in town. We started at the Lowell River parking lot for some viewing of fall color.

Said hello to the spider web at our potty stop. Spider season.

And made our way to the gazebo, with its own views.

I was the lucky recipient of Brie and home smoked salmon (smoked by friends of Kathy’s as I recall).

It’s been a great day so far — let’s move on.

Another fall ride brought time with Kim and Meri. We chose one of our favorites to ride the Centennial Trail to Lake Stevens. Our stop was at Biscuit and Bean to have those favored biscuit sandwiches for lunch.

Along the trail we spotted these animals, short and stocky,, we have never seen on the many times we have ridden this trail. I thought I knew the name, but now cannot remember. Who can tell me? (My friend Deborah says they are Highland cows.)

Riding over the crunchy fallen leaves was fun only because it was dry! Otherwise it can be a little scary if wet and slippery for falling!

Kim…

Meri…

A typical Fall sighting…

And then it was nearing Halloween time and Susan and I needed the goods! Our errand was a trip to Walgreens for the ‘treats’.

October ended with glorious color and had given me many days of riding in very good weather.

Now I will work on catching up for November. Eventually I think I will catch up with myself. Now that I am slightly recovering from whatever crud I have had (maybe bronchitis but did not get that exact diagnosis), I might have the inclination to actually get caught up! Still not well enough for any long rides, but doctor tells me to ride my bike ;’-).
