Between 1907 and 1922 Helene Kroller-Muller and her husband Anton Kroller bought almost 11,5 00 works of art. Helene’s dream was to have her own “museum house” where she could share her passion for art with others. In 1938 the Kroller-Muller Museum was opened. In the years that have followed, it has been extended several times with more buildings, and an expansive sculpture garden. The museum holds the second largest collection of Van Goghs in the world. There are also works of many of the the modern masters.

Anton purchased land, piece by piece, which is now the Hoge Veluwe National Park that I wrote a little about yesterday.
Today’s tour allowed for time to enjoy our picnic lunch on the grounds, walk through and view the art gallery, and have time to enjoy the sculpture garden.
