One more full day started with the round of breakfast time.

And then we had this fun project to make one of those ‘camp bracelets” everyone made back in the going to camp days. It must have been easier back then. Getting the very first step was quite difficult for everyone.
Dina tries meditating and visualizing the steps, Regina is skeptical that this will actually work, and Penny pays rapt attention which will pay off later,

Our instructor, Wendy, tries a different perspective. These three give it a real try.

OK Ok, Wendy says, look at it from THIS angle as more sisters join the try. Kay, Linda and Munch are sure to get it now.

See — I told you — Penny paid the closest attention right from the start. The rest of us floundered some.

Here the rest of us are, behind in understanding each instruction but ALMOST everyone got it.

Penny could not help but rush over to compare her perfect bracelet to my freestyle attempts. I guess I should have paid more rapt attention as well!

Lots of fun here and then some free time to do whatever we wanted before Julie prepared our Dutch Oven dinner ;’)

Look closely at the next display and you will see our menu of the day.

Julie does this cooking demo and dinner prep for different groups and we can just visualize “them” cowboys coming in from a hard day on the trail to a scrumptious meal prepared at their camp.

White hot coals are under and the also on top of the ovens (these are not called pots — they are ovens) for different temperature for different foods cooked in different sizes of ovens.

Taking the lid off and on at different time intervals, and removing some of the coals as necessary, keeps the oven at the correct temperature (need I say it takes practice?)

It’s obvious that Julie loves what she does.

A sample of what our dinner looked like ;’-). Tasted great too.

Dinner done and back at camp.
Regina had time now to color a Happy Birthday card for Smokey Bear. We all did that at some time or another, and Annie will send them off to Smokey.

Our choir leader Penny had some time for yet one more duet — with Marion, as Eileen looks on appreciatively.

Before we knew it, our campout event was closing for this time. A group photo of all the fantastic women closes this post. I thank them each and all for the fun, care and delight they give to each one of our many outings. SISTERS ARE THE BEST.
