A RAINY DAY ON LOPEZ

Some say – it never rains on Lopez, at least not during a summer vacation trip! Today proved that to not be true. What does one do on a rainy day on Lopez?

Shop…

Four chose to believe the forecast of little to no rain from noon until 4:00, and took a short 6 mile bike ride to the Labyrinth.

By now, not quite half way through our ride, it was raining HARD! I took a few steps onto the labyrinth trail for just a couple of photos.

Then I found a dry spot under a tin covered tool shed where Lizette and Shelly soon joined me.

The three of us stayed as dry as one can stay in consistent rain, and watched Kristin continue to walk all the trails in the labyrinth and repeat a few, before joining us.

We made our way home in the downpour and arrived in a soggy mess!

Kim and Meri had taken a drive out to the spit for some bird viewing. Afterward Meri joined Susan to watch the Seattle Storm Basketball game. Here they are on our porch enjoying ‘summer on Lopez’.

At least they had this gorgeous background view while watching the game.

This evening Susan and I will pack up for an early departure for our ride to the ferry in time to catch the 9:30. It has been a fine mini trip to the islands and we value the time we have had with our friends.

  1. Hi Nancy,

Thanks for the updates! I was sorry to miss out!

I have been trying to reply to your blog in the comment section, but then it tries to link to my blog and somehow the comments seem to get lost or I get frustrated!

Anyway, I enjoyed reading about your big adventure and it was fun to see you were in Sandpoint too!

    Best!

    Sue

    1. Thanks Sue. I do know what you mean about leaving a comment. That same thing seems to happen to me periodically. Sorry you had to miss some fun, but it DID rain yesterday! Home now for those end of trip chores.
