COLD START TO MARCH!

Let’s start with this leading story in the Seattle Times newspaper from March 3rd:

“This was Seattle’s coldest start to March in 35 years, according to the National Weather Service. How long before we can throw off the blankets and wool socks?

35 YEARS!!!!

January and February were bad enough with weather, health issues and travel that kept me from riding my bike as much as I like. I was SURE that March would bring me good biking days. But no-oh.

After returning from somewhat chilly but sunny California, I was not able to ride for a full week for the snow, ice, rain and/or wind. At last, on March 2nd, I got my first chance to squeeze into a small window of dry weather and did my soul the favor of a ride.

Not a great photo, but a great smile and good feelings behind it. If you enlarge the photo you will see on the map that I stayed very much in our neighborhood doing my ETAL (Every Turn And Loop) route ;’-). It is a route I do many times and keeps me close enough to home to quickly head back if weather becomes foul.

My only other photo was, once again, of Mara’s monthly stump decoration.

Today, March 4th, would invite me on another ride. This time on my Shawna route. Look what has been happening without me ;’).

The trees are beginning to blossom!

For this next photo I wrote my Haiku:

Boating season soon

Landlock release your safe hold

Wind propel my sail

This is a short, and somewhat sweet post to begin the winter-like start of March 2024! I couldn’t hold back my joy of my rides, simple as they are.
