LET’S DO NOVEMBER 2024

I am feeling woefully behind in doing any blogging and now have too much I want to post about. So — I will begin with a bit of November.

Teaneurring was very instrumental in me getting out for many bike rides at the end of October and beginning of November. I have entered about that in my last post. When the rest of November hit, it came with bluster. We had atmospheric rain, thick foggy mornings, and the Bomb Cyclone. All deterring factors for riding my bike. But, I was able to squeeze in a few.

First I had to gear up for what I would be encountering in weather. In addition to my warmer wear, I included my rain legs — like chaps for bike riders. They protect the upper legs from the rain, and also add warmth.

A ride around my neighborhood allowed for another stop for Mara’s decorated tree trunk. And yes, we are so Thankful for so much we have in our lives. One of the things that Susan and I did this year was to volunteer to deliver Thanksgiving meals to families in our area. Our local YMCA coordinated with a restaurant to prepare meals for delivery, we picked up our designated share and delivered to five families. I can tell you, this was a huge highlight for me — and I believe, for Susan. It felt tremendously good to give something back to our community.

There was another day that I was able to entice a group of our Rainbow Riders to join me on a ride. Thankfully it was a sunny day and many accepted my invitation. It was a joy. Here we have our picnic lunch out in the fresh, cool day.

I wandered around our neighborhood and found some of the autumn color that adds a bit to the other gloomy weather days. This is what helps me to release my ever tight grip on my beloved summer. In fact, I have learned to appreciate autumn a bit more for the color days we have had this year.

Had to have a photo of my bike on the bridge.

And as November came to a close, the color did as well. Another ride for the month though… color or not 😉.
