There are two things that have brought me to experience my Post Traumatic Stress.
The first was in late May when I had my bike ‘crash’ and did an endo over my handlebars. I was not critically injured as I say I ‘fell’ over the bars, did not “fly’ over them. I was basically at a near stop and as I prepared to start up again, I neglected to let go of the brakes, and my bike bucked up to toss me over the front. I and my bike were ok, my injuries were mild enough with cracked ribs and some bruised knee & thigh. But the trauma came from knowing how much worse the outcome could have been!! You can imagine.
A mere three weeks later, our friend Maridee was killed by box truck! I posted about that earlier.
These two experiences have spooked me about riding my bike. I have lost trust in myself, and the trust I have never had about auto traffic has been heightened.
Susan has been my cheerleader to continue riding and encourages me to ride shorter and easier staying near home. I have been doing that.
Susan rode wth me to pick up a ‘spicy chicken bowl’ to take home for lunch/dinner.

The light fixture near the doorway has been decorated by somebody.

On another day I stopped at a house nearby for the gargoyle.

Wandering around by Lake Serene near us, I took a picture of the rearing horse.

I ventured out a bit farther and attended a small birthday celebration for my friend Gorm who was a coworker back in those days.

I was beginning to gain back a bit of confidence but still not feeling totally confident on any roads. My three loyal friends (Jo, Kim & Meri) joined me on a trail ride we have done many times.
We rode our bikes along the southern part of the Centennial Trail to have our picnic lunch at Lake Cassidy. I have taken many photos of that, so skipped it this time. Along the way to the lake there were a few things and country scenes of interest.

Finishing lunch, a walk out on the dock of the lake gave us this offering. Not the greatest photo, but the eagle is beautiful.

One more stop on the return trip for the cows.

Oreos…

We had had a good day with warm friendship, and shared some emotional feelings about the loss of our mutual good friend and Rainbow Rider, Maridee.
