Most of my riding has been posted earlier as parts of my other outings and social events. But there are a few that need to be recognized, and so here I am again.
Susan and I rode down to Lighthouse Park in downtown Mukilteo for one reason. “Our” friend Ella would be participating for an award in our local Dog Show.
Ella is a true gem and she always looks forward to seeing us as she recalls the walks we have taken her for on the library trail. We love Ella, and of course love her person, Stephanie too ;’-)). Ella was on the track to win one of these trophies.
But there were other dogs vying for a trophy as well. This one would no doubt win the Biggest Dog trophy.
Likely this next one had a better than good chance at the Legs trophy.
But there are few that could win against Ella for the Best Smile ;’-). Here she is smiling for the judges table.
Steph wanted Ella to know what she was competing for.
Sure enough, Ella won the trophy for Best Smile.
That made her have a big smile 😉.

It was tremendous fun watching a lot of the dogs parading for a prize, and of course so very special to know this particular participant and see her win her category!!
After Ella, Susan and I continued on into town to Little Prague for breakfast/brunch. This is a bit hidden and a true gem of a place.
I had a few other rides in our delightful July weather. One in an adjacent neighborhood had a surprise as I had not seen this on any of my rides along this route.
Apparently there were some chicks one could purchase seeds for and feed them on a little walk through for a peep show. I didn’t do that.
Some nice things were available to buy.
I did not buy anything, there was no one around, but I enjoyed this little enterprise.
I did another solo ride to the Milk House Cafe for a tea and crumpet stop. Crumpet this time was a yummy blueberry scone, tea was Northwest Breakfast. Both very good.
On the road to home after my scone, I stopped for this garden photo simply because I like the gnome ;’-).
Susan and I both have our birthdays in July — 10 days apart — and we spend much of the month with that theme 😉. We chalk up our meals out to birthday celebration, a purchase through the month, a birthday gift. By the time our birthday rolls around, we are each totally satisfied with how we have been treated. Here is another birthday stop for lunch — very near Susan’s birthday. The one after Ella’s award was near my birthday. 🤗
Tapped is close to home and we could finish up a ride here for lunch before getting home.
As you know, most of my rides are solo rides, as I keep telling you. They are, but when possible I try to rope in someone for a different ride and Jo is one who is sometimes available. Like on this day. We rode along the Sammamish River Trail to Marymoor park for a picnic lunch on a sunny 70 degree day. Perfect. I took a picture of the windmill just because.
I may get in a couple more rides before month’s end, but doubt there will be more to post about. I will make this post now and include any surprises that come up, in my next post.
